There are more ways to use spirulina than just putting it in smoothies, though that’s one of our favorites. This superfood, blue-green algae, has all nine essential amino acids, which makes it a great source of complete protein. Spirulina powder is a superfood star because it contains iron, antioxidants, and vitamins A through E. Here are a few tasty ways that you can use it.

What is Spirulina?

Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae often used as a source of protein and Vitamin B12 for vegans. It has a lot of protein, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids, which protect against oxidation and reduce inflammation.

Studies show that Spirulina may improve the way the body uses glucose and fats, reduce fat in the liver, and help keep the heart healthy. It also speeds up metabolism, helps people live longer, improves body composition and digestion, and strengthens bones and teeth.
